Frequently Asked Questions
How do I grant PhotoDay access to my photos?
When you first open PhotoDay, you'll be prompted to grant photo library access. Choose "Allow Full Access" for the best experience. You can change this anytime in Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. PhotoDay works entirely on your device. Your photos, face data, and all analysis stays on your iPhone. Nothing is uploaded to external servers.
How does face detection work?
PhotoDay uses Apple's Vision framework to detect faces locally on your device. When you view photos, faces are detected and grouped by similarity. You can then assign names to help organize photos of people you know.
Can I recover deleted photos?
When you delete photos through PhotoDay, they go to your iPhone's "Recently Deleted" album where they stay for 30 days. You can recover them from the Photos app during this period.
Why is the daily summary empty?
The daily summary shows photos taken that day. If you didn't take any photos, it will be empty. You can browse previous days using the calendar view to see earlier summaries.
How do I edit photo metadata?
Open any photo, then tap the info (i) button. From there you can view all metadata and edit supported fields like date, time, location, and description.
